Today I tried to use the site again, and it seems to be running a bit smoother.  There is a bold statement on the 1930 census stating the are recieving extremly high amounts of traffic, and to bear with them as the work on the issues.

I was able to do some search's and they returned results as of this afternoon, so its looking pretty good.  I wonder what they are going to do once the site is back to normal operations.  From the Footnote blog it looks like many subscribers were not happy with not being able to access the site due to the free promotion.
